From Behind the scenes to spotlight
I come from a very non-filmy background, but Bollywood has always been in my blood. It all started from the age of ten when I saw Abhishek Bachchan. It is through this fangirlling journey that I realized my true calling was Public Relations and digital marketing. I never thought I’d become a PR manager or a consultant, since I had no experience in the field. However, as fate would have it, in 2009 I won a contest, ‘Date with Sid’ and met Ranbir Kapoor for the first time. After this encounter, there was no looking back.
It was after this that I learnt about the PR job market, and it was right up my alley. I’ve never wanted to work with big A list celebrities, reason being, I want to keep my fangirlling and professionalism independent of each other. I decided to get into a brand new niche of promoting people who worked closely with celebrities.
I did PR for Tiger Shroff’s hair stylist, stunt man, choreographer, etc. and they are all now verified on Instagram. I’ve done this for a number of artists’ technical teams, because they are the people who make our celebrities what they are. What we don’t notice is the amount of hard work done behind the scenes by people who are not given enough credit for the work they do. It’s my ongoing mission to correct this wrong and give credit where credit is due.
Not only this, when Tiktok came I was the first person to pick a bunch of good talents and do PR and show the world they are beyond just lisping and changing clothes.
Although, I find it tough to give my clients organic coverage and I still find it difficult to explain my line of work to people. I have worked with technicians who have had no experience in the glamour industry and yet I have managed to provide them with good media coverage. Through my work, I get to explore my creativity and my clients get signed with celebrities, who later become assets to their portfolio.
I want my company- @Drrumrollsmediatalent to be known for having a personal touch to everything we do. I believe in putting my clients at a top-notch position and position their image in the best way possible.I want actors to see the fame of their technicians, make-up artists and team members and wonder who they are. I want people to understand that PR is for any and everyone, including that A-lister and the hairdresser of that A-lister.
