Afghans Cling To USA Plane During Its Take-Off

The Afghan crisis is deepening since the Taliban came into power. Such is the extent of fear in the hearts and minds of civilians, that they are trying anything in their power to leave their homeland. A shocking video is going viral today showing desperate Afghans cling to a USA plane during its take-off. After the surrender of the Afghan government’s forces to the Taliban, scores of people can be seen in the Kabul international airport.

The USA ended its two-decades-long military presence in Afghanistan, as declared by President Joe Biden. This decision allowed the Taliban to seize the strategic capital city of Kabul. Consequently, the president of Afghanistan, Ashraf Ghani fled the country. While many people are labelling him as a coward, Ghani has something else to say. According to him, he faced two grim choices, tackling ‘armed Taliban’ or ‘leaving the dear country that I dedicated my life to protecting the past 20 years.’

He further says, ‘The Taliban have won with the judgement of their swords and guns, and are now responsible for the honour, property and self-preservation of their countrymen. They are now facing a new historical test. Either they will preserve the name and honour of Afghanistan or they will give priority to other places and networks.’

Viral Video: Military Plane Takes Off While Afghans Cling To It

A video is widely being shared across all the social media platforms in which a USA military plane is taking off. The disturbing thing is that hundreds of Afghanis are running alongside it. Moreover, some of them have even tied themselves to the plane. Hanging outside the aircraft, they are seen helping their fellow countrymen. What happened next is expected, since the plane took off with some Afghans clinging to it. Various media reports are suggesting that three people fell off when the aircraft was in the air. Furthermore, five more people were killed in the chaos at the Kabul airport.

American president Joe Biden is going to address the situation soon. His speech is scheduled at 3:45 pm ET.
